Skills

Merging: If standard Abenius and Radiance of Owen Abenius are merged, inheritable skills are shared by both styles, but changing styles will swap any style-specific uninheritable passive and discipline skills.

Inheritable Skill

Minor physical attack on 1 enemy at the start of battle. Low chance of decreasing Accuracy Rate. Activation rate reduction, and the amount damage and Accuracy Rate decrease, are reduced if learned by someone other than Abenius. Efficacy increased based on skill level and amount of Accuracy reduction increased

During battle, if there is an enemy weakened by attacks, a moderate physical attack with high Accuracy is performed on that target. This can be performed only once per turn, and the probability decreases each time it is used. Performance rate and damage are reduced, and it can only be activated once per battle if learned by someone other than Abenius. Efficacy increased based on skill level.

Unique Skill (Not Inheritable)

Increases damage to magical beasts and decreases damage from magical beasts.

If the attack target has not yet taken a turn, damage dealt increases the more the user's Action Speed exceeds the opponent's.

Discipline Skill

Continuously increases each stat, with Attack Power and Confusion/Charm Tolerance increased even further. Attack Power and Confusion/Charm Tolerance increased further based on skill level.

Continuously increases each stat, with Attack Power and Surety increased even further. Attack Power and Surety increased further based on skill level.

Adventurer Reviews

TheAxolotl's Analysis

Abenius is a strong damage dealer with the potential to provide some buff support, which is very welcome. Being a Fighter, she gains access to the highest Strength -> Attack Power conversion, on top of some solid damage multipliers and Full-Power Strike. Furthermore, she gains Attack Power with her Discipline levels, which is great.

The passive damage boost from her Flickering Fang skill appears to be roughly in the 20% ballpark, although we're still testing out slayer skill damage. This has the potential to be a solid damage increase for her given how frequently we run into magical beasts. The big difference between this and something like a damage boost to Entites or Undead is that the latter start out with innate resistance to physical weapons, while the former doesn't. In many cases, this could end up as a "kill harder" bonus where the damage boost is effectively wasted because you already would have done enough damage to the enemy. It'll definitely be more valuable against magical beast bosses, though. Unfortunately, this skill only boosts her own damage and does not extend to party members.

Her Flutterdream Flash skill is extremely unique and fun. It's a "Minor physical attack" that has enough potency to outright kill a weaker enemy at the start of battle or to take out a nice chunk of health. In addition, the accuracy debuff can be very handy, especially when stacked with something like DILTO. It's unfortunate that this skill is only one use per fight. Abenius will always trigger this skill at the start of the battle unless the battle starts with an ambush, however when inherited to another adventurer, the activation rate and damage drops significantly (roughly 20% on the activation and damage is reduced to roughly 60% of a basic attack). Note that skill inheritance increases the damage of the skill, as well as the amount of accuracy reduced, but it does not increase activation rate or the chance to trigger the accuracy reduction.

Abenius' class change of a Priest may seem like an odd one at first glance, but it's worth dipping into for some added buff support on top of gaining Priest Weapon Mastery for a minor passive Attack Power increase. Given that we now have seen katanas with Attack Power and Magic Power on them, it's not outside of the realm of possibility that we'll get future weapons with Attack Power and Divine Power, which would be a perfect fit for Abenius to use.

One of the things I really like about Abenius is that her signature skill does not lose value as additional skills get released in the future due to its nature of being an automatic trigger at the start of battle and not an active skill that could become easily powercrept by future active skills (I'm looking at you, Gerard).

Frobro's Analysis

Certainly more interesting than most other figures. For starters, Like Yekaterina, Abenius has been extremely lucky with the kinds of enemies and events that have been common in the game from Abyss 2 to 3. Abenius does extra damage and receives reduced damage from solid chunk of common enemies thanks to her, Magical Beast-slayer passive. This feels even stronger with the ease of farming and crafting the perfect Horned Eagle Sword from Fordraig.

Flutterdream Flash may seem low impact in a vacuum, but if you stop and realize that it is a guaranteed turn 0 hit in every single non-ambush battle, you notice that Abenius likely has done more lifetime damage of most units in the game. I understand the hesitation, but this is a solid use for Codexes assuming you use Abenius often. You’ll get your money’s worth from it so to speak.

The discipline is cool, it seems like with the release of abyss 3, going forward we can expect to see more enemies use status ailments against us. Being resistant to 2 of the more debilitating statuses for physical attackers (Charm/Confuse) while getting more attack comes off as better than most.

Simple but effective. Not exactly flashy, but still one of the best fighters in the game.

Shiro's Analysis

Starting from her inheritance we have basically free attack on the enemy. While in case of harder enemies/bosses the impact is quite small and rarely will make a difference (assuming it’s not leveled) the case is different if we got for all around dungeon clear or for farming purposes. In those cases it's a good push towards faster fights. Whenever it kills one of the enemies in the group or slightly weakens a stronger one doing not only damage but also giving him ACC debuff. In the end it's a really good skill for self inheritance but not so good on others because of lowered activation rate.

Moving on to her passive, it's a really amazing one especially for second abyss/middle floors of third abyss or both Le Bicken and Hundredfold Blossom caves. Not only does her passive buff her damage vs Magical Beast but also reduces damage received from them. Lucky for her those are really common enemy types so she’ll have a good bunch of time to shine.

Moving to her discipline. While in the earlier phase of the game I was really skeptical of her and Lana's, it turned out to be a really good one as we arrive in abyss 3 and we have quite a few enemies that tend to proc charm/confusion. And those are one of the most annoying statuses. It’s one of rare cases where I’d say that it’s worth going for a disc.

Her class change is priest, which is one of my favorite options for fighter class. Having it saved me really many times against annoying statuses from enemies like vampire/succubus/gorgon. Not only is it good for cleanse and sometimes emergency healing (assuming you carry staff and you’re not too lazy to swap weapons). But it’s also a good potential for faster fight setup on bosses giving you more buffers in a team and speeding up for example porto on everyone. Overall very solid class change for supportive reasons. On top of it Priest Weapon Mastery helps a bit with attack.

To sum it up I believe that Abenius is one of best options when it comes for a fighter (and the best one for general content) thanks to having overall really solid class options, unique passive, inheritance and discipline. I would personally invest in inheritance firstly because it’ll be useful in more situations than more charm/conf resistance but in the end it's a matter of personal opinion on what you find best. Her only downgrade is that her unique doesn’t active on ambush. But at least that way you don’t lose the Assault Guard turn.

Let’s break the base and Alt Abenius this time and how she stands right now in the game!

Firstly her inheritance. Base one is an extra free attack on the enemy which is really amazing and arguably one of best character inheritances to have. Sadly inherited on someone else the activation chance drops heavily being more of questionable choice but still worth having lvl 1 on your team to speed up your farm which works even better now with Rabenius. So what about her alternative style? It’s a finisher move. Again much weaker when you inherit it (especially because of 1 time use) still it's a really good skill to have inherited on the whole party for lvl 1 faster clear. Nothing necessary but a good QoL in farming. What does it mean exactly for Abenius though? Her having both her inheritances can finish off elite mobs during farming before they can even move! It won’t kill the bulkier ones like cyclops but it can definitely burst down mobs with a decent chunk of HP like f/e scorpion lady with surety hits.

Let’s move to passive now. Base Abenius had an amazing passive that was beast slayer – something amazing for the second abyss, mid floors of the third abyss, Le Bicken, Blossom cave etc. Now it’s even more important in A4 where a lot of enemies are either humanoid or magical beast! The passive is absolutely amazing and works great with her kit of “farmer”. What for the alt? It ups all DMG up based on the SPD difference between you and enemy before the target takes a turn. Which synergizes well with her inheritance and will boost your first attack into the enemy allowing for some great burst of mobs or be a help in case of more bulky mobs like gorgons allowing for quick bursts of them without using any SP!

Now for the discipline. While the first one was amazing and was offering confusion and charm tolerance it was mostly conditional working well on Doll boss, A4 GWO, succubus and other cases, it wasn’t all around bringing value every time. But now she has surety + ATK. While yes, it’s definitely not the best one for fighters losing against SUR+SP or SP focused one like Yrsa’s it’s still really good to have it for surety value alone. And with Abenius being a standard character now it’ll be easier to discipline her and bring value of that extra 20 SUR stats.

As for her class change. It’s priest. Sadly we don’t have any lord class around the corner that could be a nod towards character like Abenius and offer better gear in future but having one extra fighter with priest abilities allows a lot of cleanse, ability to use important buffs especially like PORTO or if you swap into rod during fights or outside of them an extra sustain through your journey in the abyss. Also it has Priest Weapon Mastery, which while not being much is always something towards ATK value if you run 1h weapon, pretty much meaningless for 2h sadly.

To sum it up. Abenius now with her alternative choice went from one of the best fighters to even better fighter option and in my opinion my favorite choice among the fighters that I won’t drop no matter what now. She brings much more value for me than my Lana which pretty much makes Abenius my go to choice now which allows me to run a more evil frontlane without worrying about losing value of character. I personally would invest in having Abenius both inheritances all over your main characters that you don’t swap out to speed up farming and ease some fights but that’s not anything necessary. Sadly again her issue stays – she can’t use her base inheritance on ambush which sadly is some damage drop but hey, at least she won’t lose Assault Guard or Sacred Resistance during it.

Karkarov's Analysis

Abenius Alt skin has arrived as well as an Abenius quest... What does this bring to the table, should you care, is alt Abenius worth considering for resource spends?

First we have to consider that base Abenius was already a good character, and is now available in Adventurer Bone II pulls. So this means discipline etc are not as big a challenge as it would be for other banner only legends. Plus it helps Altbenius already has a great base character with alt class available. Even if the alt class is Priest that still at least adds some versatility to fighter even if it isn't "much". All in all she is well positioned from a "base" level to begin with, which matters.

To go over the high level stuff Abenius is a light element fighter thats a good alignment human lady. Not a ton of synergies happening here but it makes her one of the few who can really capitalize on alt Adams formation buff (which is very strong though VERY limited), and of course Lana. She does get a minor speed kicker for being a lady which turns out to be a little more valuable than usual for reasons... though it is still very very minor.

Ok what has changed with the Alt? First there is her new passive skill: Feat of Swiftness. This skill gives Abenius bonus damage if an enemy has not yet acted based on how much faster Abenius is than the enemy. Well since building your team to be faster than your enemies is Wizardry 101 this is pretty much a win for Abenius. You should simply be faster than your enemies on a developed party 95+% of the time. How big is the damage bonus.... I honestly am not sure. The fact that it relies on how much faster Abenius is than the enemy, and knowing exactly what that gap is ... well it's difficult... makes this very hard to meaningfully test. So it is very unclear how strong this skill is but on paper it "seems ok".

What about the inherit? Now she has "Oblivion Slash".... and this one is just plain good. Effectively it is the opposite of Flutterdream Flash, instead of attacking at the start Oblivion Slash has a chance to proc when an enemy is dropped to a HP threshhold where Abenius could possibly kill them with one hit of the skill. That doesn't mean she will (though it is likely) only that she "might". It can still miss or low roll like any other melee attack. However unlike Flutterdream she can do it more than once a fight, only her proc rate goes down as she sees multiple uses. It also procs off any attack that does damage to an enemy getting them into that "hp threshhold". This means spells, aoes where there are multiple chances to proc, or Abenius's own attacks. It is limited to only 1 proc per turn though, turn being defined as the space of time between Abenius's last action and next action.

As an inhherit I think it doesn't have huge value because the proc rate and damage do slightly decrease, but it also falls to once per fight period. That said the whales out there who want to save a minute on their farm route or build meta pvp teams "just in case" are certainly going to see a lot of value in a team of multiple melee monsters who can all Oblivion Slash. The short of it is even though I think as an inherit it is only "ok", that means it isn't bad or nonsense to inherit it. On Abenius herself it is a lot more than "ok" it is a great passive DPS skill bringing a very nice clean up tool on low hp mobs.

Lastly what about that new discipline? It is Surety and Attack power. There is no better discipline for fighters (at least not yet) than surety and attack power. This is just plain meta, the end.

So with these changes we see Altbenius with Flutter, Oblivion, her speed based extra damage, and meta discipline is effectively a alpha striking fighter from hell. Put her in the front row with a spear, or even give her a bow in the back row as silly as that sounds, and she can be oblivioning enemies that barely survive an AOE regardless of position, hitting the "optimum" low hp target almost every fight, give her moment of finality and she can proc her own skill in case someone lives it, and of course you can just give her a traditional front row fighter weapon and see her crush things there too. Her only real drawback is yeah she should have a slightly better second class and she doesn't play with the Alice buff. Those aren't huge drawbacks.

With the release of this Alt skin it is my opinion Abenius is now one of the best "stock fighters" in the game and worth serious consideration in many party makeups.

Adventurer Pull Plans

TheAxolotl's Pull Plan

I like Abenius' kit so I pulled three copies - one for the base, one for the OCD Discipline, and one to inherit to MC.

Lynd's Pull Plan

She's hot so I pulled immediately. At some point I blanked out and she had some discipline levels and Inherit leveled. I'll max her when she rolls around again.

Karkarov's Pull Plan

I have always liked Abenius so I was going to pull to try to get one copy of the Alt skin no matter what. Then I saw the Altbenius's kit, her really nice new design, and I pulled... well, more than one copy. Her Gacha gear is also fairly solid, especially the two hand sword which increases damage on full HP enemies and reduces SP cost by -3 on skills that cost 13 or more SP. I don't know if I would "pull for it" but it is worth mentioning.

TLDR: If you are looking for a good fighter that fits fairly easily into a party, if you use Alt Adam, or if you already used Abenius to begin with... This is a very solid character to pull for. While I haven't done it (yet) I am considering ways to get her slotted into my main team.
